Scan to record
Detection starts recording automatically. Two modes cover every floor:
- Continuous — a new code auto-saves the current clip and starts the next one
- Single item — scanning pauses while recording, resume manually
- Duplicate rescan: alert only, or allow re-record
Real-time watermark
Timestamp and code number are overlaid while recording, so every clip carries its own proof.

Questions we actually get
Does it need an internet connection?
No. Scanning, recording, watermarking and managing all work offline. Only the optional LAN backup needs your phone and computer on the same Wi-Fi — that traffic never leaves the local network.
Where are my videos stored?
In the app’s own storage on your phone, with metadata in an on-device SQLite database. After a backup, copies land in ScanVidTop Desktop’s data folder on your computer; use batch export to move them anywhere.
Can I turn the watermark off?
Yes — it is a per-project switch. Clips recorded without one can still be watermarked later from their metadata inside the desktop app.
How do I connect the desktop app?
Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi. Launch ScanVidTop Desktop, open the Backup tab on your phone and scan the QR code on screen, or type the address manually, then approve the pairing prompt on the computer.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone on iOS 16.4 or later; macOS 12 Monterey or later (Intel native, Apple Silicon via Rosetta 2); Windows 10 64-bit or later.
Is it free?
The app and the desktop client are free to download. The free plan allows 30 recordings a day and up to 5 projects; Pro removes both limits and unlocks LAN backup.
